INTERDRINK-2000
5 medals and the Grand-Prix were awarded to two Moldovan producers at
the wine and spirits competition organized at the Interdrink-2000 wine and
spirits show held in Moscow, between the 1st and the 4th of November. The
Asconi trade company was awarded with three gold medals for their Cabernet,
Traminer, Muscat-Asconi and two silver medals for their Sauvignon and the
Kagor, a dessert red wine. Combinatul
de Vinuri si Coniacuri from Balti was awarded with the Grand-Prix for
their divin "Prezident".

HARVEST 2000 According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 340,000 tons of grapes were crushed by the Moldovan wineries during harvest 2000, a 40% increase from last year. A young wine competition will be organized for the first time in Moldova by the ministry in December. Beginning with the 15th of November regional pre-selection competitions will be organized.
