Vitis Hincesti is known as a pioneer in fine wine production in the post-Soviet times and as the first Moldovan winery to break through to the western markets (UK, USA, Norway).
Since 1999, when The Institutul National al Viei si Vinului (National Institute of Vineyards and Wine) has regestred nine additional areas for production of wines with mame of origin (VDO), Chardonnay de Hincesti, Sauvignon de Hincesti and Pinot Noir de Hincesti is produced here.
