Vin de consum curent - "current consumption wines"
Table wine. "Tinere" (meaning young) are wines released in the year of harvest.

Vin de calitate superioara - "superior quality wines"
Must be aged for a minimum of 6 months. Must have at least 10% alcohol by volume. "Vin de colectie" (collection wine), has to be bottled aged.

Vin cu denumire de origine - "wines with name of origin"
"Appelation" wines. The grapes for these wines have to be from specific vineyards, the wines must be vinified and bottled within the region of origin.

At the moment 16 VDO's are produced in Moldova.
